Congratulations to 2020 Frank Talbot champions Chuck Tarter and Paul McNaughton who overcame Andy Nolan and Dominic Reilly in a dramatic final.
One down with two to play Chuck and Paul had to dig deep and it took a stunning up and down from Paul from behind the 18th to win the match and the title.
Once again, congratulations to both Chuck & Paul and Andy & Dominic on getting to the final – as always, unfortunately there can only be one winner.
The new World Handicap System (WHS) will come into operation on 2nd November 2020.

Congratulations to Mike McGrath and Mick Dempsey on reaching the final of the 2020 President Liam O’Shea’s Prize.
Mike had to beat the in-form Henry Gilbert in the semi final while Mick had to beat Martin Nolan, which is never an easy feat, in the second semi final.
The date for the final will be announced as soon as possible.

Many congratulations to our Junior Cup team who have won through to the quarter final stage of this year’s competition. The team of Alan Keane, Niall Byrne, Diarmaid MacGabhann, Harry Kirk, Jamie MacDonald and sub Mark Byrne secured a fantastic victory over Lucan yesterday.
Under the management of Colm Mulcahy and Gavan McGirr we won 3.5 to 1.5 with 3 of the matches away from home.
The quarter final takes place next Sunday 4th October vs Kilkenny and this time Greystones have 3 of the 5 matches at home.
The 2020 Scratch Cup winners were decided yesterday 26th September following round 2 of the competition. Round 1 took place on Saturday 12th September. Scratch cup winners are decided by the best cumulative gross scores over the two rounds.

Congratulations to our under 15 team who beat Wexford this afternoon 3.5 to 1.5 in a very exciting match. With 3 matches away this was always going to be a tough assignment but Toby Murphy and Jamie Anderson ( The Postman ) came up trumps in Wexford with William O’Riordan narrowly missing out. Meanwhile at home Jack McGovern halved his match and Dylan Holmes came up with a spectacular 4 on the 17th to win his match and claim victory for the team.
Our semi final opposition are yet to be determined.
The medal winners final scheduled for this Saturday, 26th September, has been cancelled. This is due to the fact that not all of this season’s medal winners can play in the competition because of government restrictions on travel imposed on Dublin residents. It is hoped to reschedule the medal winners final at a later date should conditions allow.
The competition on Saturday 26th September will proceed as strokes playing for medal 5 and round 2 of the Scratch Cup.

Many congratulations to David Byrne who settled the first 2020 club matchplay competition this afternoon by beating Diarmaid Mcgabhann 3&2 to be crowned the Greystones Club Champion in our 125th year. David has come up through the junior ranks of Greystones Golf Club, first joining the academy at age 10. He was the no.1 player of the Fred Daly team in 2013, winning on the 20th hole to capture the Leinster pennant for the club and went on to play representative golf for UCD and Ireland. David had beaten Ray Crotty and Eddie Lonergan on the way to the final. Commiserations to Diarmaid who put up a good fight but it wasn’t to be his year. Diarmaid had to beat Adam Packman in the quarter final and Alan Condren in the semi final to get to the final.
