Declan Murray was master of ceremonies for the Junior Committee today and did a stellar job as always. Junior Captains Isabella and Jamie were on hand to call the winners and, like Declan, did a super job.
The overall winner was Dylan Cavazza who featured in Delgany during the week in the Jack Regan Open also.

Sixes come first
Well done to our Junior Sixes team who were competing in the regional qualifier in Milltown today.
Aoife Demsey & James Long played together and were out first, ahead of Jane Lumley & Emma Haugh, with John O’Boyle & Jack Daly out last for Greystones.
In really tough conditions all our team played really great today. The best two cards were counted for the team score but any two Greystones cards would have been good enough to get us through to the Leinster Finals which will take place in Portmarnock on August 21st.
Well done to all involved today.
Wicklow Cup – Round 1 v Dun Laoghaire
We kicked off this year’s Wicklow Cup in amazing style with an away fixture in Dun Laoghaire golf club yesterday afternoon.
Co-managers Declan Murphy (on-course) and Declan Murray (off-course, on holidays!) fielded a mixed team of varying experience levels and our six boys and four girls delivered an incredible 5 away wins!
We got off to fast starts in all five matches and all played some brilliant golf in the scotch foresomes format. With the away team starting one-up in each match, we were never down in any match at any stage.
The final match results were:
- Sophie Lumley and Tom Murphy beat Jane McElligot and Emily Charlton on the 13th
- Shauna Seifried and JP Lynch beat Mark Fitzgerald and Sean Nolan on 14th
- Marc Lawless and Aoife Dempsey beat Max Flynn and Noah Byrne on the 11th
- Milo Doyle and Emma Haugh beat Harry Ryan and Elijah Kim on the 13th
- Leo Murphy and John Byrne beat Dave MacMahon Jnr and Max Finley on the 13th
To win all five matches away from home by the 14th is an incredible achievement! We fielded a team of eight Blues and want to give special mention to Emma Haugh and Aoife Dempsey, our two Reds who played. Aoife won Davie’s professional prize for Whites last week and will be playing her first Reds 14 hole competition today. This was Aoife’s first inter-club match and she played great golf yesterday with the experienced Marc Lawless. Well done Emma and Aoife!
We play our next match at home against Wicklow before 6 August.
Well done again guys, we are incredibly proud of you all!
