Dave Mangan put in a truly magnificent performance playing with Brian Frawley to win the GROSS prize in the Foxrock qualifier.
This is the third time that the pair have won this gross prize and, according to David, Brian really hasn’t contributed much to the wins to date.
Dublin based David won’t have far to travel to Foxrock as he does jobs around that area regularly (allegedly).
On Thursday February 9th Greystones Golf Club will host a Six Nations supper which will be the first of our 2023 Sports Series events.
We are extremely fortunate to have ex Ireland and GB&I Lions players, Malcolm O’Kelly and Denis Hickie join us for the panel discussion and to have the hilarious Risteárd Cooper with us to host the event and chair the discussion.

Congratulations to our 2023 Captain John, Lady Captain Celine and President Marguerite who got their jackets last night at the club AGM. Our incoming Vice Captain Mark, our Lady Vice Captain Ciara and our 2023 Vice-President John Langrell were also elected.

Many congratulations to Toby Murphy who has been selected on the Leinster U14 Inter Provincial Team. This is a fitting reward for Toby’s hard work and considerable talent.
Toby follows Dylan Holmes who represented Leinster in last year’s inter-Pros.
Congratulations are also due to our fantastic Junior Section for all their work on behalf of the club.
The Inter-Pros will take place in Hilton Templepatrick from the 18th to 21st July.

Lady Captain Amanda’s Prize produced a very worthy and popular winner in Mary Kavanagh. Returning two fantastic rounds of 46 and 41 points Mary won by 12 points. Having sat on her Round 1 lead for 4 days Mary stood up on day 2 and proceeded to birdie the 1st!

Well done to all, and in particular to all of the new Reds who played their first 14 hole competition today. The prizegiving was held in the Clubhouse after the competition with the prizes presented by our Lady Captain, Amanda. Please encourage your boys to go for a drink and some food after golf next Saturday. There is a good junior social scene re-emerging after the restrictions of the last two years.
Remember to collect your prize in the pro shop if you missed the prizegiving.
Our Ladies Intermediate team , managed by Mary Cahill, took on Old Conna this afternoon. We had three matches away and so faced a tough challenge against a very strong Old Conna team.
Mary put out two of our Juniors at home and they performed brilliantly. Both Sophie Lumley and Isabella Stewart were in full control of their matches from the get go. Sophie won out by a margin of 5&3 while Isabella won 4&3.
In Old Conna we had a more difficult day. Captain Amanda came up against a very strong player losing 5&3. With Iris Haughton losing on the 18th it fell to Liz Anne Woollam to try to salvage the tie. One down playing the 18th unfortunately Liz-Anne didn’t manage to get the win which would have taken her match to extra holes.
