George O’Briens young team are one step from another pennant for the club this year.
On Saturday they took on an Edenderry team who came with a great reputation.
Representing Greystones were Ruadhan Murray, Dylan Cavazza and Conor Dignam.
Ruadhan was all square after 5 holes but then took control of the match winning six of the next 8 holes and despite losing the 14th he won his point on 15 with a 4 & 3 win.
Dylan was up next and even though he was two down after 5 holes he did not panic and won 7 of the next 8 holes and with a half on 14 ran out the 5 & 4 winner.
Conor was all square after 6 and then won 7, 8 and 10. His opponent fought back to one down with wins on 11 & 13. They swapped holes on 15 & 16 for Conor to remain one up. At this point Conor was called in as Greystones had the two points they required to advance to the final.
The final will be held in Baltinglass GC on Sunday 29th September with further details to follow.
