Paul Keane will send our Fitzgibbon Cup team out to do battle with Bray Golf Club on Sunday 25th February at 1.20pm. There will be three foursomes matches at home and three away. After a creditable draw with Old Conna it would be nice to get a win under our belts here.

On a rare pleasant day of late our Darcy Trophy team travelled to Powerscourt for an early start. In what was a tight match overall as two matches finished on 18 and two more on 17 Greystones came out on top by a score of 3 to 2. This means that Karl Holmes squad have qualified for the semi finals with two matches to spare.

Results today were as follows:

Toby Murphy lost 2&1

Alan Condren/Adam Packman won 1 up

Shane O’Connor/Will O’Riordan 2up

Next match is home to Bray on Sunday 3rd March and all support would be welcome.

Another weekend means another interclub match. On Sunday it’s the turn of the Darcy Trophy team to represent our club. Karl Holmes will be hoping to mastermind a win away at Powerscourt Golf Club. The team is as follows:

Singles:

David Byrne, Darren McCormack, Toby Murphy

Foursomes:

Alan Condren/Adam Packman

Shane O’Connor/Will O’Riordan

Tee off is 8am and all support would be most welcome. Live scoring also available via the SmartGolf app

Karl Holmes sent his team out to do battle this morning. It was a day for wooly hats and mittens.

Alan Condren led out the team in the singles matches followed by Adam Packman and Dylan Holmes. The foursomes followed this with David Byrne partnering Jamie Anderson and Dan O’Byrne with Toby Murphy.

It turned out to be a convincing 5-0 win for Greystones, with Alan and Dylan both winning 5 & 3. Adam then completed the singles with a 2 & 1 win. In the foursomes David and Jamie had a convincing 5 & 4 win followed by Dan and Toby completing the clean sweep with a 2 & 1 win.

The next match will be against Powerscourt away on the 18th February.

This Sunday Greystones welcome Woodbrook Golf Club for the next match in the Darcy Cup campaign. Manager Karl Holmes has selected the following team: Alan Condren, Adam Packman and Dylan Holmes will be playing singles while David Byrne/Jamie Anderson and Dan O’Byrne/Toby Murphy will be playing foursomes. First tee off is 8.20am and all support would be welcome. If you cannot make it you can always follow the match on the Smart golf scoring app.

On a day which was more suited to indoor pursuits as Storm Isha crossed the country Karl Holmes sent out his Darcy Trophy team to do battle away to Old Conna. Our line up was as follows: playing singles were Shane O’Connor, Will O’Riordan and Dan O’Byrne and playing foursomes were Alan Condren with Toby Murphy and David Byrne with Darren McCormack.

Old Conna got the better of the first two singles matches by 5 & 4 and 4 & 3, while Greystones won both foursomes matches by 5 & 4 and 4 & 3. Dan O’ Byrne earned a half point on the 18th to leave the overall match tied 2.5 pts each.

So that’s a draw to go with the win over Blainroe before Christmas.

The next match is next Sunday at home versus Woodbrook with first tee off at 8.10am. All support would be greatly appreciated.

The rescheduled third round of the Darcy Trophy v Old Conna takes place this Sunday in Old Conna, with first tee-off at 09.50am.

Any and all support will be welcome.

Todays Darcy Cup(Mens) match at Old Conna was cancelled due to Old Conna’s course being closed. The match will be rescheduled for another day.
